website for engine numbers

Hi!
Can someone direct me to information or website that will tell me in what years the engines with the prefix FN were fitted to Golfs?

i have searched and only able to find info for '86 onwards. I am guessing the FN engines were fitted in '76.

I need some authoritative info for rego purposes.

try that. it has the mk1's listed but not sure if its got waht you want. for what ive used it for it seems pretty complete though.

ah yes and you might have to do a bit of interpreting... not in english obviously but you should be able to make your way around

according to ETKA it was a 1.6L engine fitted to golf and scirocco from 08/76 - 07/79
