    From what ive heard the second outlet on the dizzy doesnt need to be used.

    yea, pretty sure that's right.

    from memory it's for the retard when you back off, and it's not really needed. (don't think i had it connected on my old 1.6)

    Dont worry about your retard its not important, just an emissions / fuel economy feature. Dial in 6 degrees advance on your timing, i found this worked just right on my old mk1 1.8l 8v with electronic ignition to make the most power and torque.

    Mk2 GTI 2 door 1.9l 8v turbo 1st mk2 1st engineered water vw nats 09
    Mk1 twin eng twin turb
    scirocco gti 2.1l 16v turb 6spd
