    Awesome work dude.

Love the cleanliness 100%. Only way to be.

Just make a mention about putting items such as the block etc in the hot tank. This can eat away at the intermediate shaft bearing shells, which will require replacement.

Very true. I replaced my IM shaft bearings after it went through the tank for that reason.

By the way.. Are they NEW oil squirters? I was going to use my old ones but i'm starting to wonder if i should get some new ones..

Not much to report, i am racing in a khanacross in two weeks so i am busy getting one of my other golfs ready for some dirt action. Ratbag wont be on the backburner for long though.

So i used the origional oil squirters, but they spent a couple of weeks soaking in fuel then scrubbed and fully checked to make sure the little piston inside was working well. Just be careful getting them out, the bit for the screw bends easily.

Me thinks it may be time for an update.

My head came back from being reconditioned, refaced and polished, heavy duty springs, new lifters and hydrolic valve guides, new inlet valves and refaced outlet valves.

Just a little bit of time on a benchgrinder with a wire brush head makes all the difference.

On with the head, waterpump, crank breather and some pulleys.

    Cam time.

And finally my valver is all sealed up with the cam pulley on, a new tention pulley and timing belt.

Next on the list is cleaning the gearbox, a few brackets and other bits, organising the cage and getting the motor ready to drop in. Also I am making my own simplified loom and instrument panel so i have figure all that out.
