Last few bits and pieces removed from the engine bay. Everything that we couldn't remove is taped up and ready for Primer.

    And Primed.
If I have to be honest the bare look of the car is a bit overwhelming, as this is the first time I've ever taken on something as huge as this ...

Don't be overwhelmed Tommie, she will come together and look like a car again pretty quickly!
It's all the fiddly details that come up in final assembly, to make it perfect, (like polishing all the glass) that will take the time.

It's looking great!, I'm jealous, no progress for me, until after the weekend when mine gets straightened out!

Thanks for the encouraging words Scotty. I am sure with a few beers I'll be able to assemble her .

Had a bit of spare time today so dropped the seats off at the trimmer. Eventually the Series 2 cloth can get used.
To be honest the rear and passenger seats weren't to bad, just the drivers side with the usual wear and tear.
The trimmer promised me a 7 day turn around so it should be ready when the car is finished from the paint shop.

Probably the happiest day since owning the GTI.

Here's a few more sneaky ones.

Should have the car back on the weekend.
Just wish I had more time to complete it. Still haven't got a completion date as I don't want to rush it and stuff things up.

Picked the seats up yesterday, and they look sensational. Very happy with the final result.
Tomorrow I am getting the GTI back, felt like years since its been gone.
Hopefully the rebuild goes fast without any major hiccups.
