    Totally possible, looks awesome too,

    Might be better if you used a bigger engine (such as a later 1.8 or 2.0 from a MK3) as twin carbs are a bit of overkill on a 1600

    Formula 3 1600 Golf motors run 48 mm Webers for 190 to 200 hp.

    Crazy motors those formula 3's

    Im running twin 40 sidedraught webers on a 1.6 8v as we speak. They have tiny choke sizes in them though -28mm. Need to be bigger. Still, tuned right they run very smoothly, economically and are great fun the noise they make is addictive
