    Took the mk1 to willowbank.....

hey guys just a random post with a bit of everything took the mk1 out to willowbank raceway last night posted a best time of 14.4 at 92mph down the 1/4mile was pretty happy with the out come the car has done 93mph in the past so not sure what happen there car was a little out of tune plus i rarely drive it these days heres the link to the timeslip. http://img14.imageshack.us/img14/2299/revnit14.jpg
looking to take it out in a months time again got some go fast bits coming

On another note some may know some may not ive planned a full rebuild of the car but due to this whole financial crisis and my employment being shaky at the moment i haven't started it yet plus my painter is busy for a couple months so that plays to my advantage a little but have been collecting brand new parts for the rebuild but im not one to spill all the details just yet, but i thought id post a couple pix of the car as it looks today so people can reflect on how it used to look. sorry about the image quality have to downsize them cause im still on dial up

a small hint of whats to come.

I think that is my old motor. Positive in fact. I played with the cam to cam timing and apart from the annual freshen up it is stock. Lightened flywheel as well. It used to go well and Revnit is getting the use out of it.
Well done on the times too, not far off the Polo GTI times!!
I must play with the Caddys 9A I am thinking!!

yeah it is your old motor its pretty much untouched since ive got it other than burning out the dizzy its been faultless thats why i haven't fiddled with it to much new plugs and a change of oil and bang 14.4 ( not to mention the 115kg driver )

It runs well but it is getting rebuilt when the car gets painted looking to run forged pistons and a shot of nitrous unsure on what cams will work have to do some research. the paint work will be to shiny and alot$$$$$$$$$ involved to go circuit racing but ill still do some drags with it.

Answering the other question yes its a 2.0l 9a on K-Jet lighten fly, set of extractors and cold air intake, i run pretty rubbish tires nexen 205/45 R16s i run them at 30psi on the quarter mile grips up ok the clutch is a bit tricky i was going to go abit lower but didn't get alot of track time was pretty busy.
