    Tips for buying a MK1

Wheels and Modern Motor used to have a double page spread giving tips on what to look for in a particular classic car. This got me thinking. Nowhere is there a guide on this forum to help anyone looking for a MK1 so I thought I'd write one.

WHAT TO LOOK FOR WHEN BUYING A MK1

Does it have 2 or 4 doors? Yes? Buy it.

    Thank you.

Glad I could be of some help.

    Of course.

Unless it's brown, and has 4 doors.

Nobody buys brown 4 door MK1's. Nobody sane that is.

Make sure you are good at making decisions that make no financial sense if thinking of buying a MK1.

Just tell her it's like one really big pair of overly priced, uncomfortable shoes...
