Yeah its a bit upsetting to see the damage some clowns have done to the car and even more puzzling is why??

Some people should just stick to their holdons and leave vws alone.

It was all good and Mik should be driving it, but the crappy secondhand fuel pumps are not the answer. Brand newy will be here tomorrow, hopeful that that will be the end of the saga and the start of a new chapter for Mik.

True to matts word it is now running well and at home.

I am going to need to take my time and check over many things as some random
clamps are loose here and there that leads me to believe that there is tinkering that needs reversal.

On the m5 it hammered, in the tunnel it was amazingly loud but I think I'll be buying some ear plugs for medium length journeys and over.

Thanks to matt and Beau for helping me out. O promise I won't be back
    in your workshop too soon.

Drove her to work this morning, so glad it has been starting well.

I noticed that it leaks pretty badly in the boot, that is not uncommon but I need to have a crack at sealing it as it is not always going to be out of the rain.

Lots of rattles and screws to tighten. I think that every nut and bolt needs a once over so I am satisfied.

Apart from it idling at 1500 rpm, it drives really well. You can choose to drive it loudly or quietly, just don't head over 3K.

Lots of cleaning and re-trimming to bring it up to the standard that it should be at.

There is a clunking when you slow down and the engine begins to shudder, I think it might be the exhaust, but have to still hunt around.

Finally, I locked myself out of the car last night as it turns out the driver door lock is not exactly functioning as it should.

I want to wash it, but don't want to fill up the wheel well - so may have to address that before she gets a bath.

    Quite stoked.

Gave the OLD GIRL a bath tonight between dashing home and the kids getting back. Not a detailed going over by any length, but my dad was pretty adament that you should always wash your car to make sure you notice anything that was a problem.

I am happy to report that I really did not find anything more that was a problem than what I already knew. Once panel seems to have a problem with the clear coat which is a shame, but it is nothing to cry over and I reckon a good detailer could sand it out.

The things I noticed were that the front spoiler needs to be aligned, the bumpers are really requiring a respray (or I could find some others to put on it), the stickers that have been added need to be removed, there are some stone chips and once I have replaced the door handle, that is about it for now.

Tomorrow another going over will reveal any more and then it is on to the interior. Found a few bits that are missing and re-attach the heater controls. A good vacuum will help also.

Sorry if I am boring you without pics - but they will come in good time.

    Good to hear Mik.

Unfortunately, you drive a car.. You get stone chips. Nothing you can do about it. End of story.

So the car is leaking. I have had to use masking tape to divert water from coming in around the tail lights in todays weather. Not pretty but until I can get a better solution it is better than a cascade into the wheel well.

I headed to carcareproducts in Rozelle and got a car cover too, they were really helpful. They took the time to answer some questions and checked the paint depth etc. It is a true test to a cars history, they can tell where the bog is, where the paint has been stripped before painting and where there is possibly rust. Big thanks to taking the time to do that.

The new fuel pump was really noisy, that has quietened down now. Makes the cabin more pleasant.

I just need to sort out the tuning, it is idling at 1500+ and has a tendency to fluctuate by 250. Heaps of time to sort that now.

Mad wheel spin in the wet in 1/2/3 at 4500rpm!
