All good dude. By slightly larger i meant like .15mm or so. A bit hard to measure if you're not that great with calipers.

Everyone has to start somewhere, and you've got everything else down pat for sure, so start reading up on it.

    Oh, PS, your block...

Hmmm. I seem to recall one pretty much the same somewhere that i've seen...

Very nice. Just the way i'd do it.

[QUOTE=Preen59;320927]81mm is standard bore. So 81 may be the piston size. The "bore size" is actually the piston size. The bore will be slightly larger (bore clearance etc, you know). QUOTE]

To get technical on piston sizes the bores are machined exactly to a standard size of say 81.00mm in the standard motor and as mentioned increase in 0.50mm increments. 81.50mm, 82.00mm etc

The clearance is machined into the pistons and varies from standard cast pistons to aftermarket forged pistons. The mean diameter clearance from factory on cast pistons is 0.05mm less than the bore diameter,
so for a 81.00mm bore the pistons are 80.95mm diameter. Forged pistons such as wiseco with teflon coated skirts have a recomended clearance
    0.0625mm and JE has 0.075mm.

Pistons are measured with micrometers 10mm up the skirt and at 90 degrees to the gudgeon pin.

After boring and honing to many blocks to mention id recommend wiseco in an NA build up such as yours if you do bore it out. They are the quietest and lightest pistons on the forged piston market.
