Be good to get some more details about the blasting Stephy, garnet for the inside/underneath, baking soda for the exterior body ???? pics will be appreciated to ;D

Check out the front guards for distortion.....
    Lots of MK 1 Scirocco's...

If it aint a MK 1 then it must be a donor car ??

    Cheers,
    Grant...

Yeah if they turn the pressure up too high (someone who doesn't know what they are doing) it can knock the panels around. I've seen a set of doors and a bonnet absolutely ****ed because the guy didn't pay attention.

Glad to hear, Steph. Can't wait for the pictures..

That's why i'm not doing any panels - just the engine bay and front floor where all the deadener was.
I'll find out what they used too
Looked at getting soda blasting for the panels and outside of the car, but Mr Bodyworks doesn't think they'll need doing.
I get to see her very soon... I'm getting excited!

The sand can distort loose panels because of the heat caused by friction when blasting the material right?

Yes, media density and type, velocity, distance to the surface, angle of blast all have factors in how the part will survive being blasted.

One of the paint guy's here does his door jambs and closures so to avoid having to strip out the old paint by sanding or using paint stripper I was told, saves a bit of prep time. Like to see the result in where the blasting of the body deadner is Steph, as I have the whole underside to strip here...

It'd be fine on the narrow bits of body with folded borders, like the door jambs and windscreen surround, hatch and bonnet jambs etc. Needs more rigidity to stop it heating up, loosening, sagging, distorting etc.

So um... where's the pictures you mentioned...?

Okkkk - i kind of ended up losing track of time yesterday...
Here are the pics. Very impressed with the result.
My Bodyworks had already painted over the floor where the sound deadener was removed but it looked brand new.
He wasn't 100% sure what they used, but the sand was pink if that helps at all.
I was very surprised at how gentle it was on the car

The fenders/front apron aren't properly attached yet, he just sat them there to show me how it was coming along.
