    Stephy's MK1 Project

    OK...
Here are some pics - there wont be much movement on here as this is "when i have time" project...

Background - picked this little bub up nice and cheap, looked a bit ratty, but the body was straight and relatively rust free, the rust has now been killed and the car totally gutted and ready for a trial fit of the engine then paint.

I have just purchased a 1.8 16v with dellortos, so looking forward to that arriving

    Anyways... Enjoy...

When she was intact and running...

Have a brand new front apron for her - genuine too!

It's currently being used for storage...

I have a solidplate brass button clutch

apart from being frightfully grubby - the floor is rust free

    No rust

    Still no rust

Watch this space - i'll post things as i do them, even if they are few and far between...

    Hey Steph.
Looks like it'll be a great project. Your plans sound good.
What colour are you planning on?

oh - should i keep that a secret...? It's a very bright flat colour - still a long way off yet... Need to get everything fitted and working - then pulled back out again for paint...
I'm having her done in bionic blue - it's a FPV colour, but want to get the VR painted first. Probably white wheels to go with it, a bit out there, but i like pushing the envelope a bit...

Blue with white wheels usually works. Depends on the wheels I suppose.

Haven't decided yet - there is just too much to choose from, i have a set, but i don't know if i want to paint them... Have the old polo rims, they look pretty smart too... I'll decide eventually.

Yeah, I too like where this is going

Love seeing build threads, gives me great inspiration. 16V should be nice too hehe! Cant wait.

Are you going for the looks, or performance with this build?
