yeah if it's been sitting for ages it could be build up or paint giving off a little smoke as the heat doesn't exactly dissipate from that area easily

Hopefully the vac advance will sort everything else out.
Pretty certain it only goes on one way as 2 bolts are closer together.
and i think stock timing is between 6 and 8BTDC.. i usually go 8 as i do more town driving and run premium fuel. so its snappy

Nothing on TV and killing 12yr olds on COD got a bit old so i made this:

Oh and here is the cut on my hand, mk1 - 1 Dado - 0. More inconvenient than anything else.

Sorry if the build thread is a bit crap, i get bored.

Did the timing today, exactly by the book, didn't change a thing. If there is an air leak i cant find it.

Im guna have to find someone to look at it because I can't fix it.

Have to say again, you're doing a cracking job for a young fella! Nice to see you taking time with stuff and not butchering the car

Looks to be a very tidy shell you have too. Next thing I would do is get the big dent in the front panel sorted when you have the money, as this'll really finish off the front end nicely.

    Great work
