Where did you get the rubber gasket stuff from? I only ever go to autobarn so i have no idea but i think it would be ideal over the paper stuff.Quote:

If the carby is a webber it is proablly a generic webber gasket. Draw a template of what you want and take it to a proper old school car shop. You will probably find that its the same as the gasket on an old escort, or holden, or something with a webber and thats what you need to order. Sounds like you are getting close mate, keep at it.

I did that once. Ended up with a valve sideways in a piston.
