Congrats mate, it looks amazing. Reading your resto thread almost singlehandedly renewed my enthusiasm for Golfs, and has made me really want to do a mk1 project of my own some day. Top work.
All I can say is
"an exceptional acheivement"
I think you are the envy of all of the waterpumper community.
especially doing most, if not all of the work yourself.
That must be a demon to drive.
Have you got any plans of doing motorsport events with it?
You definately have to bring it to the DOVW in Nov.

well done valver!! it doesnt need to be said, but thats one hell of an achievement. the best mk1 in the country for sure, up there with the best in the world too. it must feel great to finally drive it around.
For sure! Monday is my only full day off, so I did just that today. Drove by myself down to the Nubeena/Pirates' Bay area. For the mainlanders, it's about a 180km round trip from Hobart and a nice mix of high speed corners with a few tighter sections that are great fun. I didn't get stuck behind a single car!!Originally Posted by joshyd-mk2gti
Took another round of pics, of course! The first few are at the Tuna Fishing Club in a small bay 10 mins from Eaglehawk Neck:

A week ago now, the underbody shots were taken too. These are going in the break-out boxes for the feature. The main photos are getting done this weekend at a couple of locations by a local photographer, so I'll have to finish the interior...
The brakes are more than up to the task! Almost scary!!

Sensational pics Stu! Not sure you need the services of the local photographer this weekend Well done on the PVW feature! Great reward for all the effort and great for the Aussie MK1 scene
You deserve every bit of praise being directed at you mate. It is clearly one of the best Mk1's in the world and inspires all with a view to make a better car to get out there and roll up their sleeves. Congrats on a great achievement. Please make sure to post in a few weeks (?) when the feature hits the stands. Could you maybe direct our attention to some of the people and cars that have inspired you along the way?
Again, well done.
