Thread: the slowest mk1 build ever....

  1. #11

    bought fun tyres

    fitted them

    had fun :p

    chilled out,fitted my pirelli's for a bit

then back to the exec's for a while

    which are a bit tight

    :p

seam welded up a pair of new wishbones and powdered up a new front end

    and on

    lots off hilarity ensued

    then the fuel pump died........

so going on previous history obviously fitting a 20v will fix it god help me when that breaks though

Need to change the audi engine a bit to suit transverse but having polished a few 20vT set ups and helping a friend fit a 20vT to a caddy I liked the inline manifold over the transverse and reckon ill get it in so used a spare one I had from when my first engine in that died from sludging which id polished and tried to flog(its been lying for 2 years since anyway)

    not worth 100 quid???

    fine

had to go through the walls at a couple bits, welding them up and putting a better radius back in as I go

tried to open the throat up as best as possible

up to date pretty much, possibly got another set of wheels away that should pay for the new cage but major engine work is still awaiting the corrado selling

I do have a small issue with wheels Selling everything that wont work on a mk1 though although ive seen cars with the arch kit im fitting with 17s I dont fancy them really so basically only keeping all my 15s although I need to add pretty wide wheels as I go along now(widest I have currently are 8s and 8.5s )

slow is as slow sells selling off my parts horde to pay for bits for this build is going according to plan but just feels so slow to me.....sold wheels - bought management, sold spare parts(wheel lips)- bought poly windows, sold ex-corrado subframe - bought arp flywheel bolts

Ive kinda got a new part assigned for everything im selling off so just wheeling and dealing and losing and gaining at this stage :/trying to build momentum for when the work is going to kick in though as I want the cage bought(when monza's sell)during me seam welding the shell and then ideally sell my old bentleys for the cage to be fitted professionally
