Hey guys,
So i took my golf out for its first drive the other day, Everything was going great motor was really strong, changed the gearbox oil and it feels new, engine boosted up nicely, only thing that let me down my seats dont hold me into
place !!!! so whats the deal with bucket seats and rails? do i have to get specific ones for the type of seat ?
can i modify myne ? wahts the easiest / cheapest way of tackling this problem ?
Thanks Guys

Easiest/poor mans way to make seats with inertia belts hold you better:
Slide your seat further back than the seating position, yank the seat belt to lock it, hold it locked and slide your seat back forwards.
Haven't done it in my MK1 because it ain't a sports car, did it in my MX5 and it was a great poor-mans harness.

there are 'recaro'/bucket style seats that'll fit, and you'll be able to fit seats from a mk 2GTI or mk 3 VR (with minor mods) and they're resonably nice, but if you want some proper buckets, you'll probably have to go wrecker hunting and get a seat and put it on a modified mk 1 base.

ive got 2 autotechnica buckets just need to know how to fit them..

look in Pete Jones' 'wreck to race' thread. he's already done what you're trying to do!
