You mean people as in the rest of the world.
Dad needs give the Mk1 a bit of a freshen up.
Are people these days getting most of their bits here?

You mean people as in the rest of the world.
In 30 years of owning old Golfs I've never bought anything off them. I always manage to find what I want locally.
For the past few years it's been off this forum.
What bits are you after?

Depending on freight, VW heritage seem cheaper on panels (about 40% cheaper, so I suspect they supply to these guys) but not mechanical, not sure about rubber bits

One of the tuning companies at the Sydney National VW meet last year was bringing in rubber seals for MK1 Golfs.
The guy that had the 500hp MK4 R32 and the sweet but rough looking MK1 Golf that he just bought.

VW Heritage, German auto Parts, Mk1 Autohaus, Werke34 and a few other french and spanish online sellers ( and maybe others ) are all agents for VW Classic parts which is the division of VW to move the old stuff.
Prices for the same items can vary between all these re sellers however VW heritage have some deals with free shipping
buy purchasing over a certain dollars worth of parts ( 2 orders tonite for me totalling $1600AUD )
Classic parts in Germany only sell into the Euro zone now since these distributors have come online ( i use to buy direct from VW in Germany for many years ) although you can still go to classic parts website and do the browsing/ part number searches.
