Pics here. It does need a paint. Like the whole body really.

I went out to a property about a half hour past Winsor in Sydney's North West. the guy was advertising a 1978 diesel a few weeks back and is now parting it out. So I grabbed the brake parts and cables i needed. I'll give you his number if your after anything. The interiors been stripped already.

I'm feeling a little guilty about modifying it to suit a golf rather than the beetle. But I think it will look at lot better lower to the roofline

Hey Brom ill give u a hot tip... Do not modify that rack, it is worth a lot of money and an aircooler will pay big bucks for it...

Also it wont look right on a Mk1 as it is suit to the curved roof line of a bug nor the horizontal rood of the Golf...

Please do yourself a favour and dont wreck a good rare rack!

Also with the money u get for the rack u while be able to buy a welder to build a better looking rack for the Mk1

Yep, I've kinda come to the same conclusion. For now i'll leave it as is, but it'll probably end up on ebay some time soon to pay for other things on the car.

gsand, if you really want it, I can get it for ya and get the shipment arranged. If it ends up being more than you're expected to pay, I guess I won't be too fussed. I'm sure someone here in Sydney would want it. The sizing sounds good too, would fit a Mk1/Mk2 nicely!

I'll have it on watch. Can't go too wrong at $5!
