    RHS engine mount positions

just curious to find out which engines used which engine mount positions for the RHS mount
not the best of pics, but here's one for reference.
there's the one thats just freshly welded in (same as a 1.6L), but what about the one to the left?? what engine is it for?

    cheers,
    Dave

I reckon the one you have for the 16/1800, the other is for the small motors 1100 and 1300.

i think your right, found some more info on some UK forum.
referring the for most one as 'small block mount', and the rear one as 'big block mount'.
are diesels any different? or do they just use the rear one?

this is a 1.1L using the front mount

Diesels use the big block mount.

It's fairly unusual to see the small block mounts in Aus, I don't think the small motors were sold by VW here.

All the small block cars I've seen have been private imports.

AFAIK, none were sold officially with the small engines. Exclusively, we had the aussie assembled 1.6 engined cars (I think perhaps a VERY small quantity of the earliest petrol ones were imported with the 1.5 petrol engine), and the GLD imports that have the 1.5 n/a diesel. Everything else is imported personally or I suppose back in the 80's there could have been a few organised small quantity imports of other models.

There sure are a lot of imports in australia though - south african mk1's, left hand drive cabriolets, GTI's, GLS's, even the odd turbo diesel.
