I think it won't cost too much for them to do it, don't waste your time.
The convertible has had a misalligned drivers door since I bought it. It's sitting low and i have to pull the door upwards and slam it to get it to close fully or else it sits out a little and may not be grabbing the locking mechanism fully.
I've had enough of it and the central locking won't work because of it. So is this something i can easilly adjust at home or should i take it to a panel beater. Will i need to replace any parts in the hinges?

Depends on what the problem is.
Is the door actually sagged or is the striker too high?
Is the door bent around the hinges as if someone has forced it down at some time?
Is the panel cracking around the welds on the hinges?
Are the hinges worn?
Or is it simply an adjustment?
Check and make sure nothing is wrong, then try and adjust it by lossening the bolts and lifting the door. Doesn't sound like you can make it worse. If you can't fix it then you can make that trip to the panel beaters.
Gentle assistance from a jack to gently (hint hint) take the weight off the door when it is fully open will make life easier. Slacken off the bolts and let the door re-settle in it's jacked up position, then re-tighten and test for fit.
Just don't go crazy ok?

In the Bentley's Manual it has a guide to aligning the windows-must check if it does the door as well

if you loosen the hinge bolts you should find there's more than enough adjustment to get it right.
also, the striker pin is adjustable. a (14mm?) ring spanner or deep impact socket should get it loosened, then you just slide it either in, out or up and down as required and tighten again.... but make it VERY tight, or it will just move and your back to square 1 again. adjust the door first though.
