wow looking amazing
did you reweld a whole section of plate in the footwells??
aand where did you source the master cylinders from??are you running .625 bore??or .7
Finally!!! Time to start putting bits back on the Mk1 (for good this time).
Apart from some embarrassing moments when I realise I gave away some crucial bits (the little Y shaped bits to connect the pedal to the bell-crank, and the other one that connects to the booster - sigh!)
Anyway... some quick pics
My rebuilt gear shift -
Wheel, pedals, gearshift and handbrake
Rack and other bits including the pedal box
It's been a while...
Nothing like a pristine new shell comming together - are you sure
you're not building a show car?
Yeah, I know - we're pussies (or something)
A couple of questions - is that a balance bar sticking out of the master cylinder bracket? Did you consider an internal peddle box setup to get rid of
that brake linkage? (yeah, more work I know...)
I desperately wanted to lose the bar and bell-cranks, but this guy in England was advertising a MK1 pedal-box which I bought sight unseen. So the good news was that it was designed specifically for a RHD mk1, the bad news was that it simply replaces the booster. Oh well
It has a dash mounted adjuster for the balance-bar, the MCs are .625 and .7 respectively.
The floor was plated with 6mm aluminum by the wizard that built the roll-cage and reinforced the shell big-time. This was my original post and the pics should answer the question better than words
Thanks for the kind words (sorry about the previous 'pussy' jibe)
Charles.
It's been a while...

I hope your gonna clean your feet, shoes off before you enter the car!
Looking good as always
from my man mickey marrows on the edition 38 forum its a great fit, i think mine was around that price but without cylinders, it is part of the steering column and mounts directly to the firewall bulkhead. i had to source a blank steering column in the uk to sort out the build
without the mods
and with my custom pedals
