Like Preeny said, if they were real, they wouldnt be a long term proposition. So how do they get the weathered and oxidised look then?
I think it is real rust in most cases. Most of the cars i've seen have real rust. I'd rather bare metal clear coated than rust. I've seen a few rat rods done that way and it's really something to admire.
