    Radio Removal

    How do i get the radio out without breaking the plastic bit around it?

    if its the standard radio (probably sony) all you need to do is, take off both the volume and tuner knobs. beneath all the parts of the knobs you will find to small little nuts, all you need to do is remove this and the plastic face will slide off, and the security "peices" will to, freeing up the head unit all you need to do now is pull, and remove the wiring and aerial. good luck

    Standard radio? The first Australian Golfs with a radio were in 1990 (Pioneer).

    If its a more modern radio and you have released the side with keys, or a bit of wire, reach up behind the radio and see if someone has attached it to the bulkhead with a bit of mechano. I`ve seen a few like that. Makes it fun to pull radio out.
