1.8 injected to carbi conversion

hey guys
im have a 1.8 fuel injected motor lined up for my mk1
im not sure what type of injection it is, but i was thinking for simplicity sake i will put my weber carbie on it
im just wondering what is required and if it is as simple as putting the carb on and tuning it up.
i have done a search of the forum but i have found any threads on it.
if anyone could link me to a conversion thread or give me some sort of information it would be amazing

As a minimum, you'll need a carb from an 1800 motor, I doubt one of a 1600 would have the capability to provide enough fuel.

The stock solex is crap, go a weber setup.
Depending on the Injection setup, you will have to block the holes in head, its a matter of using a half inch i think it is Hex key and undo the jacket bits, slap a 5 cent piece in (thanks Pete for this Tip) bit of silicon and thread the jacket bit back in.

yup i already have a weber set up on the 1.6 so ill use that, it may need to be jetted but i will find out. awesome i think
keeping it carbie will be easier then trying to get the injection to run in my car.

yeah it should do,

if the carb ran great on the 1.6L, take note of what jets you have and maybe go up one size in the main jets and air correctors to compensate for the extra Engine Size

I'm looking at doing the opposite. Give me fuel injection over carbies any day.
