    I'm so glad that my fiance loves the mk1. I've been showing her bikes/cars that I've wanted for years, then I showed her the golf and she couldn't say no (her first car was a mk1 rabbit). She loves it almost as much as I do any time we go out it's a race to the drivers door handle ("I TOUCHED IT FIRST SO I'M DRIVING!").

    As for your issue, I would think that any partner should be respectful of eachothers interests, within reason. Life is too short to spend every moment and every dollar working towards have more dollars... you've gotta spend from time to time or else you'll just end up giving it all to your kids when you kick it.

    You'd need to have a MK1 as a dowry.
