    ooooooh. Pretty drawings, lol.

I reckon there aer more ways to do a mk 1 chassis bar than there are to swing a cat!

The 50x50 ends cap the ends of the RHS and the other leg of the angle is where the hole is drilled. The angle can be about 75mm long, and so the brace sits a bit lower than the level of the holes.

I also drill it to 683 and use whatever means necessary to bend the car into place to get the bolts in. The worst one i ever did was my old GLD, it was more like 686 between centres. Once I'd pulled it back in and the bar was on the car felt brand new to drive.

    just for you mk1 lovers

PS i can do a stress analysis if anyones interested
Cheers, Aydan. Saves me doing a drawing!

That's exactly what I had in mind. I guess great minds think alike, right? haha. Thanks mate.

Stress analysis with FEA is probably overkill. ha.

Yes, there are. Mine on the 16v is completely different. I like Aydan's design though. Like I said, form over function, but still looks good.

I've got a plan. OD 25x2.5mm wall seamless hydraulic tube and rose joints. 1 bend.. or 2. Depends.

    I'll get back to you.

Well, I have enough tube for 4 (I can make more, just means I'll have to buy more). So I'll look into making a pattern this weekend. After that it's just turning up some ends, TIGing them on, getting some rose joints and getting the suckers powder coated. I'm thinking satin black.. But you guys can tell me what you want.

Yeah Timmy B ties his Mk1 down on the trailer via the lower stress bar and has jacked off of it before, too.
