Well it's definitely a 2-door and that in itself makes it worth more to some. Looks pretty clean and straight and original. And as someone said, not too many around these days. Looks a lot like my '76; I paid nearly double what they're asking for this but it was possibly cleaner etc but who knows.

    I vote: go for it.

Yea i'd buy it for sure. Offer him $800 & see what he says. Maybe offer him the $1500 with the other 2-door thrown in!

    a rust-free 2 door is worth $1500 IMO.
it looks tidy and as said above you'll kick yourself if you don't pick it up.
i paid $3k for my old mk1 and it was not nearly that tidy

I saw this thing coming out of the mill 2 days ago. Looks so lonely there. Needs a good home. If only I had the $$$

I reckon if its as rust free as he say's it is & looks just as good in person than the pics, its worth that all day long regardless of what people say.

If I had a car like this I wouldn't sell it for any less than $1500.

They are getting harder & harder to find. (but that also doesn't mean the prices will sky rocket! They aren't exactly a Monaro, GT, American muscle car or anything that has any real pedrigree!)

But I find it hard to believe a 34+ year old VW can be 100% rust free.

Even the 76er 3dr Swallowtail I have here is nearly rust free except for the common wheel well/firewall rust.

Looking as the repairs under the rear roof gutter's is alittle bit of a giveaway to what may lie ahead. Looking at the pics, it also has some front lower rad. support damage too.

Also, I reckon this car is a 76 not only due to the Swallowtail Accelerator pedal, but also the 76 heater control panel, the late beetle indicator/wiper stalk's & also the carpet & door trim material too!

Still looks like a good buy & worth looking into I reckon if your after another project

    Keep your Green Machine Lawny.

Youd have to start again with this one.

So what if it has 2 less doors, it will have rust and will need work.
