had a look at that, my golf was diesel to begin with, so it has the right tank, but comparing lines to my parts car (diesel) my green one has one big line, 1 small, parts car has 2 big lines.

So going to pinch the big ones and clean them up. SHould be easy if not i got 2 diesel tanks lol

So im thinking one of the previous owners not only swapped lines, but tank too !!
Its a side feed tank with the fuel level sensor on the side too.

My parts car which is diesel is also a side feed, but the pipes are in different spots and the sensor wires are not on the side :S

Ill go out and grab some pics later

    Edit,pics

This one is from Diesel Car

This one is From my Petrol car (ex diesel )

From what ive read its only the diesels that had a side feed tank

turns out the tank was also swapped when converted to petrol, not to worry. i has a diesel tank or 2
Gives me a chance to clean one out and make sure its good, also got a chance to check filler neck, looks new!!.

Do i have to remove the rear beam to get tank out? if so, where would i hold the car up on axle stands while doing that?

anyone got a diagram on what each wire does on the glow plug relay, i know there is one for power, earth, one to the inline fuse in engine bay, 1 is a black wire going to back of fusebox in the "A" group, and the a wire to dash.

Correct?? need to add a glowplug light to dash, and ive got the wire that goes to dash, can i just hook it to a relay triggering a LED or something like that?

Also, the fuse on the scuttle panel in engine bay, mine is burnt out. I belive its a 50 amp unit? can i use something like this?
