    Petrol to Diesel conversion?

A friend just bought a GLD and the engine doesn't run so he wants to convert it to petrol and keep the diesel box.

Is it as simple as just dropping the motor out and putting in a petrol motor and pump?

Is there anything else that needs to be change, perhaps the fuel lines? Does the tank need to be cleaned of any diesel or can it just be drained out and petrol put straight in?

Also, what are the ratios like on a diesel box?

Nope, tank and lines stay. Empty the tank, fill with petrol, job done. Loose the diesel filter in the bay and install a universal petrol one.

Exhaust manifold its the same. Wire up the coil to the wire that was connected to the diesel pump. Use a "no resistor required" type. A Bosch GT40 does the trick.

Top radiator hose the same if you install an 1800 or 2.0. For a 1600 you need the 1600 petrol top hose.

Diesel Box is pretty good for a petrol motor around town,
with a 1.8L and a bigger cam, it was one shift from 0-100
