    Perth WA 20v Turbo conversion

    Hi guys,

Looking for some recomendations/info on people or companies in WA who could help me out with a 20vt engine conversion.

I have a 1990 Golf clipper that is currently having the roof replaced and a respray but the engine is next!

Any info regarding parts and cost would be appreciated

    Thanks

Don't try and do it off a longitudinal engine. My advice would be the AGU from a MK4 Golf or A3. Easier if you use the 020 box but way up in scene points if you fit a cable change box and convert to hydraulic clutch.

Fit the engine loom and OBD plug for proper diagnostics. Then get me to defeat the immobiliser and use the factory ECU. You can then run tried and tested tunes in it.

Qpeng has a load of information on their site.

You can get the longitudinal AEB engine as it uses the stock mk1 engine mount. Need to swap the intake manifold to a transverse one tho. Agu is also good but you have to get the mount and change the tensioner to a 16v one with a spacer. Wiring and tuning wise just go to RPW in Osbourne park and get a haltech fitted. Qpeng is a bit difficult to tune. 02A/J would be the go as they are alot stronger and the mounts, cable to hydraulic conversion kit is easy to get nowadays.

Longitudinal is a lot more than just changing the inlet manifold - you need to change the sump and baffles, turbo manifold, turbo, oil pickups and then the inlet manfiold. I'd go AGU - this is coming from someone who bought a longitudinal then bought a transverse when I properly researched it - I now have 2 20v engines for one car.

A far cry from factory diagnostics and well developed tunes though. All under $1000.
