But which bit in particular? I had the entire shell sandblasted then immediately given a coat of super-etch primer. On the weekend I gave it a light rub fixed numerous (but not all ) little dings then gave it a good coat of primer-surfacer. Lightly rubbed that back, added a bit of spray putty in a couple of places, rubbed that back too. Spot primed where I had rubbed through (back to bare metal) THEN came the top coat. Being acrylic I expect to have to rub that back too (2000 grade wet'n dry) before buffing.... but then the finish off the gun is soo good I may just try buffing directly.

give it and sand cause even though it looks good
off the gun sanding flatens the surface and shines
10x as much when polished
i think it also makes the paint less porous
oh and don't let it harden outside in the weather for
three and a half years like i did very hard to sand

Mines done a bit different, sanded it down with scotchbright and 200 sand paper, primed it, guide coat, then sand with 400 then 800 (then 1200 on the outside) with soapy water. thats all im up to know, but next paint goes on then hit it with 2000 and buff (cut and polish) My dad does the sprayin and i do the sanding.
Not sure what primer we used, my dads the pro i just do the hard work.

You obviously haven't tried to strip the rubbery **** off the underside have you???

Thanks, I bought a new gun for this project, made the job a lot easier!!
As for the underbody stuff, I found a blow-torch, scraper and some method of fire control (squirty bottle of water) worked the best. THEN send it to the sandblaster man. Of course the rotisserie meant that I was not trying to work overhead all the time which was nice.
