Great pickup mate! Love that colour! The future porject sounds good.
Hi guys,
I have sold the Mk2 (DEF-DUB) and should be arriving to it's new home in Canberra later tonight. It was hard to let go but I have managed to fill it's space already.
I picked up this great Mk1 from golfwagen on Thursday last week.
Really happy with it - it's registered, straight as, minimal rust (i hope),
it's running and what a fantastic colour!
Can anyone tell me more about it, I'm guessing it's aussie and a '76 ?
Future project:
1. Treat some of the rust
2. Source window rubbers
3. Get 13's or 14's and new tires
4. Get Low
5. Free the body of rust completely and respray
6. Eventually get more power in there
Pics are from golfballz, thanks mate

Looks pretty good. that paint should come up nice with a good polish!
I'd say it's an aussie car. Has an early style air filter, (but no swallowtail) I'm interested to find out what month the car was built? ??/76.
Yeah cheers, hennie
I think it will polish up okay - I'll give it a go on the weekend. I'll see If I can find out the month it was built.
I have already taken those door handle cups out and got the weird spot light mounts (or whatever they were) off the front bumper.
Another pic my mate took
