    Silly question time...

    Standard 1.6 '76 golf - is it ok to sit/cruise on 4k rpm? (approx 115kmh)

    Not used to this high revving, as I have only had the car for a couple of weeks.

    sorry for the dumb-ass question...

    7 grand sounds like a lot of revs, I'd be scared of breaking something.

    Youd have to be trying hard to break a 1.6 golf engine, even revving it to 7grand

    Mate, you sound like you're having a ball with this thing - the rally car might have to wait
    Goes to show what even a stock 1.6 will do with decent induction

    Personally, I'd go for the extractors and skip the cam - I'm assuming that you are using it for khana's, where you want good torque and responsiveness, not big HP...
    I guess we all wonder what possessed VW to saddle the engine with that silly Solex...
