Good evening boys and girls,
I am on the verge of buying some engine mounts etc for the Mk1...
But the place I am buying them from sells a complete engine and gearbox kit but says that the engine mounts will work if I have a 06A block...
Please do shed a light on this for me, does the APY have a 06A block. Not with the car currently. Will only get there by saterday...

Scratch that. My rents have talked me into keeping it and to keep going with the project...

Were you thinking of abandoning this build?

Nah, just got things to sort out personally. So I am thinking of letting everything go.

What you're building is very ambitious (and time consuming). Why not just put the 1.8t into the golf and keep it FWD instead of going all out to build AWD. The next one can be AWD.

Tueasday/wednesday week I will be ordering my engine mounts for the 1.8T engine to fit into the golf.
Does anybody know where I can get reinforced or better than standard rubbers in Aus to fit into the mounts? Because the reinforced rubbers from the same guys costs just as much as the mounts I am buying.
