dang that mk1 smells jazzy! what is the source of it? is it just old frabic in the entire car? or is there something specific? is there anything i can spray? or will i have to do a full carpet and set change to get rid of it?

    hey guys, be helpful n:

I'd pull out all seat and carpet to have a good clean, you won't know how bad under the carpet for 30 years old cars.

perhaps trying talkign the seat covers off and give a good clean, I have heard put a few charcol in the car works. Supposably charcoal absorbs smell, you could try soaking the charcoal in hot water, dry it, place it around the car. Wouldn't hurt to try.

Could be mildew. If there's any moisture in there it can get pretty rank. I'd make sure it's all sealed up properly, scrub everything inside and replace the carpets. If you have somewhere safe to park it with the doors open on a hot day it can help dry it all out and kill off the mould.

yeah that would do it, clean your seat floor and any thing you can be bothered to and then put a lil pine tree or lemon air freshener in it, being a detailer dog hair and dead bugs are nothing

Mk1s have a distinctive smell anyway. Decaying horsehair in the seats mostly
