True - you don't have to go bare metal for no peel. If the clear coat is thick enough it can also be wetsanded back to lose peel.
But you'll always notice in some lights the pulling of the other paint underneath the new coat, depends how fussy you are.
The paint underneath the new paint expands and contracts at a different rate to the new paint, something along those lines anyway.... It moves the new paint, causes slight ripples and imperfections.
Like i said, this is only in some lights, and you have to look very closely to pick it. Someone who paints cars for a living would no if it a bare metal respray or not.
another update, cars back on track again and it will be done intime for the nats, ive also picked up a few goodies including a 16v turbo exhaust manifold that valver had! witch i picked up off ausgolfer..... :duh: lol
BUT im sorry sydney siders it wont be on the car intime...... ill start that after nationals
