    76 if course hehe! im with tassiegti, a stock mk1 is all good and dandy, but what is wrong with making something good, a hell of a lot better!!! aim for the sky kinezo, if i wasnt such a slave labouring peasant id go the same way!

    77 on were German assembled and thus the build and quality were a fair bit better. I remember at the time it was chalk and cheese between the 2 builds. The 76ers in Australia were assembled at Clayton in Victoria while the VW factory was being changed into Datsun or Nissan hands.
    The trim levels were higher with the 77 0n GLS versions. 76 models were LS.
    I would be going for a later one. As Syncro states, the later the better.
