No Early WaterPumpers at the Supersprint?

I have just entered my MK1 from Qld in the Club VeeDub Supersprint on May 23rd at Eastern Creek in Sydney and learnt that I may be the only one? I keep reading on this forum all the NSW performance builds happening, power figures, etc, but it appears no one is willing to actually run their car for real? This is a VW event hosted by a VW club and a perfect opportunity to let loose on the tarmac. Come on girls and guys.

All those people with excuses the line starts here:

My MK1 is still being rebuilt and there isn't a snowballs chance in hell of it being ready in time. My MK2 is a daily and it's nowhere near track spec.

Are you driving down from Qld?

    Cheers

    Paul

Yes, leave next Friday. The MK1 is the same one I flogged at the recent Qld Motorkhana, but now with a new motor, 5 speed box, new clutch and the usual sidedraft DCOE and Lynx manifold. If it goes as well on the black stuff as it did in the mud, all good! (https://www.facebook.com/vwmagazine/...type=2&theater ).

I've also prepped my Formula Vee and I'm bringing that down as well. The only prob with the Vee is there are not that many open wheelers, so I sometimes feel I am hogging the track on a personal track session

I'd love to see how you go but I'll only be at the show on Sunday.

I'll track you down on the Sunday and bore you with old Golf stories.

Formula Vee went bang on the dyno the week before. First one I had missed. Still drove down for the Sunday show. So this year I thought I would make up for my absence and bring two cars

My mk1 will be there again Craig. I know what you mean though, where is everyone! 2013 was probably the best mk1 turnout. There was about 4 or 5 that year.
