Hmmm...I'm looking at a set of 15x7 +15 staggered with some other size the seller doesn't know.
Looks like it might be more work than i can be bothered with...or pick up the car first and see what i can make work!

So we went for a drive yesterday shopping, hanging out etc! Lots of stop starting. We get home and we realist we forgot the ingredients for the con loaf! So we went to go get bak in the golf To go to the shops but when I turned the key the fuel pump starting pumping away n then when I wentto click it one more to kick it over! Nothing! I proceeded to turn it a couple of times with nothing happening after accessories! Would this be the alternator? As it was driving fine before but when we went to turn it on again it has power to the pump but not to turn over!

    battery ok? terminals ok?

give the alternator a love tap (seriously this sometimes works)

in a car this old it could be poor connections anywhere between the batt and the ignition barrel.

have a search around this site aswell i think there was another thread recently that had the same problem and had some responses from guys who are much more familliar with mk1s than me.

The wrx is booked in at ATD racing developments Monday to get 850cc sard injectors, split fuel rails, tomei fuel pressure regulator and the apexi powerfc with hand controller and then off to godzilla motorsport for a tune! Fingers crossed all goes well!!!!

Thanks heaps for the help guys!!! Turned out to be a wire loose on the starter motor!!! Such a simple little thing haha! And I'd say a fried earth cable may have contributed to it!!!

Yea It pays to check out these things at one stage.

I'd recommend at the minimum checking, but perhaps replacing a bunch of these depending on their age and condition.

    Main earths
    Alternator and starter wiring
sprak plugs, leads, distributor cap and rotor arm. (points check too if you got em)

    and battery.

When I first had my 76er (petrol) I kept having random elctrical glitches and faults. Cleaned up some earths and reinsulated some wires, got a new battery and never had an issue (till I crashed it, but that wasn't an electrical problem)

Yeh I've been replacing lots of the coolant hoses as they were getting to the end of their life! Replaced plugs, leads are almost brand new aswell asthenosphere distributor cap! will start replacing parts of the wiring shortly to keep it running sweet!

Thanks heaps for the tips! It's good to know where a cars weak points r so u can fix them before they leave u on the side of the road!
