I think the lesser version is a 1.6 injected and the GTI equivilant is 1.8i.
There is a large tuning movement in SA and you can have any modification you want. I think thets why the ones that came to oz from SA have such a wide variety of trim and equipment.

well they mainly injection its the mpr system from the newer polo`s
