Yep, read it again. Found no reason why they guzzle. Whoever heard of a Golf getting fuel economy worse than my Fairmont wagon?

Don't believe everything you read on Wikipedia.

There is alot of bs & crap on there.

Also take into consideration the engine capacitie's & that the car isn't the most aerodynamic car out on the road's either.

Any car will use fuel when it's shaped like a biscuit tin!

Here. Look at the real figure's direct from VW SA itself! Not too bad I reckon!

    I was looking into importing a few citi body panel's a while ago that are the same as a normal mk1 eg. door's, rear hatch's & a few odd's & end's here & there.

I was also looking into getting a complete new dash at one stage too!

I am bringing in a Citi type nose for my future project Mk1. New grill, lights, both fenders, bonnet and front and rear bumpers and smoked taillights. Cost of the parts well under $2K + shipping. Look at my Mk1 in my sig to see what it will look like as I have fitted similar to an old Mk1 before.

Biggest problem in Australia is getting it here. I'm sharing a bit of a container with somebody as normal shipping of the bits adds up to about $3K alone.

If it works well I'll be able to do it in the future again and include other bits like the new dash which is about $300 from VW SA spare parts.
