New Mk1 Owner

Question:

What clutch should I be getting for this car? It has an 020 5-speed in it, mated to a standard 1.6. I've given the car some curry and the clutch slips like a cartoon character on a banana peel! I have no idea what car the 5 speed came from, so I'm not really sure where to start.

Any help would be appreciated

It probably has the standard 190mm clutch and flywhl from the 4 speed.
either get a new one of those if on a budget, or a 210mm GTI MK2 or Mk3 CL Clutch kit and a bigger flywheel.

I can supply both, German Clutchkit is $350 and Flywheel is $100.

damn....that means i have to dismantle to check. Thanks for the advice! Will send you a PM when I eventually work out what's in there. Was hoping to keep stockpiling parts and do everything in one weekend due to lack of work space. Ah, well!
