    Thanks Eri.

So, some updates, had a few setbacks since my last post, with the weather/wind messing up a few of my panels, and re-working them to fix them up.

But have got the main body in colour and today in clear, the panels will all be getting cleared over the next few weeks, hoping to start re-assembly over christmas

here are some pics, of the front seats and the car to date

Body isn't perfect, but has come up pretty damn good, hoping that a polish in a few months once the paint is fully set will make her pop

Awesome! Seats look neat, and the paint looks like it came up pretty good for a driveway spray. Looking forward to the final product. Any engine bay cleanup happening? Or as original as possible?

The paint came up really good i think, was a bit worried when i re-did things a few times to get it right, but its all starting to come together.

Engine bay is staying as is for now. Long term I am planning a conversion with a difference... Plan is to end up with a TDI powerplant eventually.

    1.9 TDI would be perfect.

Car is looking good and those seats have that retro look about them too.

Looking at the 2.0tdi with an 02m 6speed from a mk5 as you can get a servo to cable drive conversion, and I haven't seen it done, I don't like to do what everyone else does haha

Missed the second part of that post, lol.

The seats are purposely done like that, somewhat sporty for a bit of support, and grey and black tweed, for that old man feel, best of both world's I reckon, the missus thinks it's gonna be hell gross inside, haha

C'mon, we all know when it comes to style and old Golf's women know nothing. Why do you think it's only guys who restore MK1's? Because we've got taste!

Believe that and I've got a harbour bridge I can sell you. Cheap.
