Removing driveshafts - some help required in BNE!

Looking for some help in Brisbane, having big issues getting the nut off the driveshaft - 30mm keeps on spinning, so does a 1 1/8" socket.. don't want to break it even more than it already is.

Does anyone have a rattle gun / air compressor, or some sort of contraption that they could come around and use on it?

Failing that, could someone recommend a mechanic who would come to my house and not embarrass me and my half-ass work so far?!

No big issue, the passenger side inner CV boot split do was leaking grease. Same for the driver's side outer CV boot.

Having dramas getting the passenger side hub / driveshaft nut off. It's meant to be a 30mm nut, but it just keeps skipping on the nut. Am thinking I might try bash a 28mm socket over it.. but thought I would post up a request first.

Apart from that she's running great, once this is all sorted will get a roadworthy and send those plates down - sorry it's been so long!

yeh it definately is a 30mm nut, i would try very hard not to strip it because it should be torqued to 180 foot pounds and will be a real pain to get off if it's munted. check the quality of your 30mm socket, maybe the teeth on it are worn? And if you do use any air tools, it is ideal to use an impact socket....stupid point, but the car should also be on the ground obviously when trying to crack it. also when reinstalling the drive shaft, tighten the the nut before you drop the car or move it even the slightest bit, or you will destroy the wheel bearing...just some thoughts, changed a cv boot a couple weeks back.

Finally got it off, turned out to be really easy.

The nut is meant to be 30mm, 28mm kept on turning too.. but a 27mm wouldn't fit on easily, bashed it on with a mallet and got it off with no dramas at all!

Now just waiting for the inner CV boots to show up from GTI Imports. Brian is a legend when it comes to parts, extremely helpful!

Hopefully Jimmy can handle this one...
