yeah dude, im very happy with it. Although id be happy with it when its moving
Im just waiting on the CV joints to return fromt he mechanic and put them on. As well as sort out the hosing and the fuel pump.

I have no idea what the fuel pump it to be honest. I have been informed it doesnt matter at all what the pump is, so yeah. Even though say i wire it to the coil which should be fine. How do i regulate the fuel consumption though? Wouldnt it will flood the carbi if the fuel just keeps going and going in? im unsure of how to regulate it..

THats what the fuel return is for.. once the float bowl is full, the fuel should go back out the return line and back into the tank.

I can tell you have a weber on the engine, they are more suited to a low psi high volume type pump. i ahd a cheap pump and it ruined my needle and seat cause the psi was like 7-9psi.

So i dont need to regulate anything? the the carbi stops taking fuel when its full and sends it back? thats a relief then.

I do have a return pipe/hose, ill take a pic tmoro and show you, perhaps it could be done better. Ill also try get some more details on the fuel pump, although i dont think i will be able to. As soon as the engine is running, im going to put on the bumper bars, rims, duckbill etc. Hopefully should look very nice. Thats all im waiting for, the end result hehehee as it has come a long way from its purchase and i just want to see the final product!

A fuel regulator will help if your putting to much pressure into the carb.

    Try find info on pump,

If you are only running about 3-6psi you won't need a return.. However it's still a good idea.

Connected to the float is a needle. This acts like a valve. As the fuel volume drops in the float bowl, the float drops and lifts the needle. This allows fuel into the bowl, which raises the float and it shuts off again. It's a little more complicated than that, but for the purpose of this exercise, that's what happens.

-It's kinda like a water trough with a float and valve, if you've ever seen one..

Too much pressure and you can ruin the valve
a return line is always a good idea though as Preeny said

Well this is what i have done.

Note, that i have only run those wires like that to test the pump only. Im working on how to arrange everything. Unfortunately i cant turn the engine on to test the carbi and fuel pump as im done doen with the water hoses yet, i have no idea what to block off and i have also removed the heater/fan thingo so i have to circulate the water somehow without the cooler.

Heres the pics of how it is so far.

    What do you guys think?

So i was walking around the car this morning and realised it had alot of little things done to it that i never take notice of. Here they are, some might not be the best, but im sure alot of time went into them.

The door panels for starter have flames on them. Not my cup of tea but still would have been time consuming.

The dash is also MK2 and completely un cracked which im in love with.

The roof has also been done and is veeery nice.

    Aftermarket fuel cap

Bee sting antenna, i dont really like it.

The golf has also been fitted with central locking, hence the door handles having no key holes and being shaved. Im guessing these are quite hard to find?

I reckon they just put rear handles on the front., hence no key spot.

Looking good though, far off running?
