Better off trimming your arches with a grinder if you ask me...
So its outta the question adding in the rubber then?
At the top where the bolt is being tightened, there seems to be enough space for an extra cm. Is that too considered dangerous preeny?

I have no other solution then, guess ill just be ghetto and ride stance.

Well, it's really up to you.

But hacking out your guard lips is the go, really. That way you don't have to worry about it.

Like I said, you CAN add to the bump stops.. But I drove Tim's Mk1 to SEDF on the stops and it was bad, really mad. I got airbourne more than once on the freeway....

Hahahaha well i do love to get airbourne !!

Nah well. Maybe ill have a look at the wreckers to see if i can find some springs that are the same width just a little bit higher. Thats way it wont scrape, i dont want to chop/hack/cut none of that sh*t at my guards ahaha, maybe i'll roll them but it wont matter as my suspension travles too much therefor will still rub everynow and then.

Oh and just casually, might be getting some nice new(ish) rims. I know 8" isnt baller, but hey, its enough for now

Don't be a soft cock. Trim the lip of your guards. If that's not enough, roll them. Believe me, you won't have any scrubbing issues then.

8" is pretty freaking wide on a Mk1. Definitely bordering on too wide for a daily......

i got 13x7 rear 0 offset, Rear guards flared rolled and pumped and i got them to tuck well.
fronts 13x6.6 +16 offset, flared, rolled and pumped guards. 5mm poke

Its al in the offset, you can runner a fatter rim on rear due to the less track.

As preen said, cut those guards, or bash them in with a hammer

I have no idea how offset works or what exactly it is. I've been meaning to read up on it but never have time.
All i know is mk1 is perfect roughly 25+ and that is what the rims im getting are.

Id love some poke actually, and what part do you actually cut? The inside lip on the guard that ppl normally bash in with the hammer?

At the moment mines pretty f*cked so ill have to look into the rears either way..
What do you mean by pumped dude?
Sorry for the noob-ness hehehe !!

just take the massive subs out of the boot (ie less weight) and it'll stop scrubbing as much till you can get coils, which will be stiffer and have less travel.

then go and modify you arches appropriately once you've decided on your set of wheels

Yes, cut the underside lip off that you can't see. Its easy and it works. If you trim most of it off you won't have any more scrubbing issues.

"pumped" means you beat the guards out so that they will fit more tyre under them. So you "pump" them outward.
