Hi bootz, is this Ian with the red Gti?
Hi,
Started at newbie corner, but you guys might be the best ones for answers.
I posted a previous message about how to start the old Mk1 GTI after 5 years of retirement.
My other darling is too new to be a problem child yet. I bought a 93 cabrio cheaply for parts but she is too nice to wreck and still running well. High miles 230000 but everything is pretty tidy. Lovely silver blue with a perfect dark blue roof. Perfect forum for discussing getting her back on the road.
Where have all the Mk1s gone, even the ordinary 2 door body shells have disappeared?
Hi bootz, is this Ian with the red Gti?
Pictures!
I must see the sexy pair!
Welcome fellow MK1 owner
I'm going to the pub... I may be some time...
Hi Dan,
Great to hear from you. I have taken pics and now all I need to do is find the camera cable to email them to you. I haven't forgotten and was going to send you a pic just to convince you the beast actually existed and was not a figment of my imagination!!!
Still going to attempt to start the monster, sometime - Gerhard in newbie corner gave me some advice on starting her.
yeah you too mate good to see your on here and the beast is working its way out of retirement! I've found a little golf from up north that's currently getting a makeover but if you need a hand getting it going or cleaning it up give me a yell, would love to drop in sometime and see how they go with that engine in it
From memory she goes like the proverbial shower. The only criticism I had was she needed better brakes and at the time was unsure how to go. Another one for the forum. Everything else, handling, gearbox, engine was great. The little 1600 was a sweeter revver, but the Audi 2l is a real stump puller!
Well this sounds interesting!
Pics would be great!!
Yes welcome fellow mk1 owner.
Hi heres one of the lil devils, not the prettiest at the moment
And this one, too pretty to break up for parts?
