Ok so I got the beast running. Nothing a breaker bar can't un-stuck lol. Pulled the plugs cranked her over. The newb that I am I didn't think how long the fuel had been sitting in it for. A bit of CRC a few cranks and she was spinning. Put the plugs back in. pulled the air box off, the filter was absolutely ****-house! Carby was a dirty as ever. Gave it a spray and cleaned it up,
Now this is where I need some input. I have been doing some research about the 2E Pierburg Carby thats in the Cabrio they are saying to bin the 2E and get something else eg webbers, someone who previousily owned/worked on the car decided to zip tie the throttle body open?!?!?!
Is it worth me replacing the diaphrams and giving the 2E a good revival or should I just get a Webber? Are the the pierburgs reliable?
