Preen I love a challenge lol. Happy for it to take a while. once interior is cleaned up I really don't think it will look that bad. Engine still runs and got a pm about an engine with auto box that could make my life alot easier. Still down the track might look at the manual option. As we know VW's are a work in progress all the time.

Ok so today I finally started to get into it. Turns out the engine will probably run, Meaning the Starter wants to turn, the Water pump moves but the bottom end seems seized. What do you guys reckon is my best option/solution?
If it means its Kaflucked then I should pull it out and strip it and try to work on it?
Apart from that I can't quite get the top down. I think the relay is busted but don't have a multimeter so i'll have to go steal one off the old man tomorrow. Good thing he only lives 5 mins drive tehehehehe.
Pulled the front rims off and noticed that the brakes need some intense attention so I might go with a Mk3 setup, have put upgraded my mk3 ones already so I'll just repeat this one the Cabrio. So if anyone can offer some advice it would be muchly appreciated. I am a NEWB but inspired to learn and try.

to get the top down manually undo the little valve on the pump in the boot. then you can lift it up and down by hand at least.

the cabrio front brakes should be fine with a tidy up, and bigger rear drums from mk3 or seat are pretty good upgrade. bigger booster and master cylinder recommended.

your engine no-go problem sounds strange - are you saying it cranks over or not?

I can hear the starter working and moves the belt a few mm, after further inspection the bottom wheel (NEWB) doesn't spin. I have tried to move it with a socket set and lever pipe to get extra movement. Mate conveniently called me and knows his way around engines and is going to come show me/help me. The water pumps wheel turns aswell so I'm guessing its the only one that won't spin thats siezed causing it all.

    so its "nearly" turning over?

before anything else - check the battery voltage - 12.5V min.

The battery is fully charged and its definately enough CCA's. Have had battery which is near new on Charge all day. So not a problem with charge. The car hasn't been started in along time. but has power etc.
