My MK1 Cab - Warning! Will be a slow build

Finally took the biggest step to getting my golf up and going today. After more than 6 months sitting in the shed doing nothing, I took the immobiliser out and the chariot started second time (first time didnt happen due to a flat battery).

The car is a 1982, Mk1 GTI Cabriolet. Pretty clean overall but the interior isn't to my liking so that will be getting replaced and it will more than likely be getting a fresh coat of paint.

*Note: My sexually appealing, $400 KH Laser

Engine is currently a 1.8 K-jet, of the 8 valve variety : ) The cam is not factory and is quite lumpy and sounds pretty tough coupled with the aftermarket exhaust.
Now, I'm not sure if I want to keep the K-jet or go for something else like an ABF 16v, or something turbo'd.

Currently, its sitting on lowered springs but a bit high for my liking, as it didn't scrape or bottom out as I left my drive way today. Looking at coilovers, contemplating air ride, either way, I want it dropped on its dot.

This thread wil get updated as soon as I get something else done to it, but might not be for a while considering I've got to get it to my other house, 1800kms away : (

cool! small bumper cab's arent too plentyful in oz so it's nice to see another one.

nice dent in that bottlecap on the front passenger side!

car looks pretty straight overall, should be a good project.

Water Boy - This is in fact dubsweepers old bitty, I dont know how you remember that but I'm quite impressed

dubsweeper - I got a new thermostat and replaced a couple of hoses. Radiator is kinda just sitting in there only held in by one screw. The head was fully machined and welded and is all shiny. I'll pm you about the seats in a short while.
